Germany: DAB+ reception progresses.
For the first time, more than half of all radios sold are DAB+ compatible.

According to the CE Industry Compass survey by ZVEI and Deutscher TV-Plattform in cooperation with GfK, for the first time in the history of radio in Germany, more than half of all radios sold are digital and receive DAB+ (1st half 2023: 52% or 0.5 million units).

This represents an increase of nine percentage points since 2019. Since 2010, a total of around 16 million DAB+ radios (all radio categories) have been sold.

Headphones are also in demand. In the first six months of 2023, around two percent more devices were sold than last year. Nearly two-thirds (65%) of all audio devices sold in the first half of 2023 were headphones.
