Radiodays Europe in Prague

RadioDays

After Barcelona, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna or Lisbon, it is in Prague that radio professionals are gathered, until Tuesday, for the Radiodays Europe 2023 conference.

Every year since 2010, representatives of public and private radio stations and podcast producers meet in a European city to discuss innovations, trends and new challenges and to envision the future of radio and the world of digital audio.

This year's event is co-organized by Czech Radio (Český rozhlas), among others, to mark the centenary of the launch of the first regular radio broadcasts in the former Czechoslovakia in May 1923.

In charge of international relations at Czech Radio, Zuzana Matějovská explains:

This is the first time that the Radiodays Europe conference is held in a Central and Eastern European country. It is a major event for radio, podcast and audio production professionals. In Prague, we welcome 1,200 guests from all over Europe, but also from Australia and the USA, for example. All of them are radio lovers and strive to find new ways to promote radio programs and podcasts.

The conference will be held in the Congress Palace and will include speakers from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the BBC, Radio France and the German public broadcaster ARD. A cooperation agreement between Czech Radio and the Ukrainian public broadcaster UA:PBC is also to be signed on this occasion.

The representatives of Czech Radio will focus on the position of public service media in the international context and the role of Czech Radio as a reliable source of information and market leader in the field of podcasting in the Czech Republic. Other topics discussed at the conference include DAB+ digital broadcasting, new audio formats for young audiences, and cyber security for the media.
